Location

Located in the hamlet of Rideau Ferry in the heart Rideau Lakes, our address is 8 Rideau Ferry Road, Lombardy (Rideau Lakes Township) Ontario K0G 1W0. Some say that there could be no better location because the original Rideau Ferry Inn dates back to 1853 and was located steps away from where it stands today.

The resort is ideally located at the intersection of Big Rideau Lake and Lower Rideau Lake giving you the best of both worlds. The history of the Rideau Lakes has been profoundly influenced by the presence of the Rideau Canal. Completed in 1832, Parks Canada now operates this jeweled necklace of lakes and locks. In 1925, the Rideau Canal was designated a National Historic site and in 2007 it was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The further appeal of the system is the fact that it links the St Lawrence Seaway out to the Atlantic or to the Ottawa River though a chain of stunning lakes and canals. Whether you sail north or south, the Rideau Lakes remains a valuable link to the world or, the world’s link to the Rideau Lakes.

Properties alongside the Rideau Lakes are at a premium as Parks Canada has extremely limited expansion and development to preserve the natural beauty and heritage of the canal system.  However, the popularity of this area continues to grow and demand for lakeside vacation property is at a premium. Tourists and vacationers alike flock from Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal to enjoy all the area has to offer.  Our American neighbors to the south also return year after year to enjoy the natural splendor of the lakes from states such as New York and Pennsylvania. Travel time from Ottawa is about 90 minutes, Syracuse NY is about 2 hours and Toronto is about 4 hours.
